3.25mm / US 3 circular needle, 40cm / 16” length (used as second needle for 3-needle cast-off and for finishing neckline/armholes).
Additional spare 3.25mm / US 3 straight or circular needle, for 3-needle cast-off. Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notions: Stitch holders or scrap yarn, tapestry needle

Notes:
Argil is worked flat, beginning at back lower hem. Sts are divided at back neckline, with upper left and upper right pieces worked separately, then re-joined at front neck. After front yoke is worked, live sts are set aside. Sts are picked up along left and right back side and knit inwards, toward middle front. Sts are cast off for tie, then front pieces are joined with 3-needle cast-off. Sts are picked up along upper edge of front pieces, then joined to live yoke sts with 3-needle cast-off. Short seams are worked to join sides of front yoke to back. Sts are picked up, then cast off, around armholes and neckline to create a neat finish.
