The Bayret is a beret featuring traditional Bavarian twisted stitch motifs. It’s knit out of two skeins of sock weight yarn, an amount that you are likely to have in your stash anyway since it’s just about what you’d need for a pair of socks. Top decreases are incorporated in the pattern.

The pattern is available in Finnish in the book Pipo on Pääasia by the name Alma.
