This cozy and stylish cowl uses short-row shaping to add more bulk to the front of the cowl, where it’s most needed! The drop-stitch pattern creates a striped effect that shows off hand-dyed yarn beautifully.

Dimensions

size small: 16.5 inches long in front, 7 inches in back, 21 inches in circumference

size large: 23 inches long in front, 11 inches in back, 38 inches in circumference

Yarn requirements

The small size requires 200 yards of dk weight yarn, or double that amount in fingering to be held double, as shown in the sample.

The large size requires 450 yards of dk weight yarn.

Needles

It’s easiest to knit this cowl on a circular needle, with a 16-inch cord for the small and a 32-inch cord for the large size.

Skill level

This pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner.
