Coronado Island is one of my favorite places in San Diego. It was an inspiration for this design. Twists and turns of the lace pattern and sun-kissed color of the yarn remind me of the shoreline and sandy little beaches of this coastal community and most of all of the beautiful Coronado bridge.

“Coronado Bay” is a stole knitted in one piece that incorporates some cables and lace patterns.

Finished Size:
The sample stole in the photographs was knitted with 16.5 repeats of lace pattern and after blocking was 45 cm (17.7 inches) wide and and 228 cm (89.8 inches) long. You can easily make it bigger or smaller by adding or taking away pattern repeats.

Gauge:
The gauge is not critical in knitting this shawl. Adjust your needle size to suite your yarn and achieve the size and the look of the stole of your choice.

Yarn:
Juno Fibre Arts Belle Fingering / 4 ply 70% Alpaca, 30% Wool yarn
2 skeins = 800.0 yards (731.5m) was used for the sample stole.
Colorway: Sun
The 4-ply yarn can be substituted for a thinner lace weight yarn if desired.

Needles:
US 5 - 3.75 mm 29”(74 cm) and 36” (91 cm) needles for the stole border
US 3-3.25 mm needles for the stole body.

Additional Supplies:
Cable needle if needed. It will help you greatly to knit faster if you can do 1 by 1 cable without the cable needle. The pattern has instructions on how to cable without a cable needle.

This pattern was not test knitted. Please use it at your own risk ;-))
