LaReine was inspired by my summer vacations at the Jersey Shore. Every year, we stay at my friend’s beach house on LaReine Ave in Bradley Beach. Every time I look at the shawl, it reminds me of the ocean and the countless hours my family and friends have spent frolicking in the waves.

This pattern has both written directions and charts. Although, it was designed to use up one skein of sock yarn, it can be easily customized to a larger size. There are instructions on how to make the shawl larger.

This is a triangular shawl and it is knit from the center back to the bottom edge. The knitting skills you will need to know are: yarn overs, knit 2 stitches together, make 1, and slip slip knit.

Thank you to Rebecca, Penelope, Tomo, Lisa, Susan, and Emily for helping me test knit this pattern.
