This is Cable Scarf #14 in my series of cable scarves. The scarf shown is knit with 5 balls of Elann Luxury Merino Superwash and is unblocked. The Londinium Scarf is a variation on the Sihnon Scarf, which may appeal to the “equal opportunity” cable knitter as it has cables that cross to the left and to the right.

The cables in this scarf are created by using 2 cable needles. Reading my blog post (http://smariek.blogspot.com/2008/10/sihnon.html) might give you some insight about the cable twists and this understanding might make it easier to work the cables.

Cable patterns tend to pull inwards and thus require more yarn than a plain knit/purl pattern. This particular cable is “yarn thirsty”, so plan for more yarn than you think you might need.
