There are occasions when we need to go out, but due to the M.E we have to choose going out over washing our hair. So when this happens, we like to wear a hairband, beret or tam to cover our hair up.

And that is how the Miss Martha hairband was born. The band uses hardly any yarn at all, so perfect if you have some left over scraps from a recent project.

I named the pattern after Martha Howe-Douglas, an actress from one of my favourite tv shows, Horrible Histories!

I have provided this pattern for free, but if you can please donate to AYME.org.uk, the largest children’s charity helping young people with M.E/CFS. If you can’t donate, don’t worry! Just by adding your Miss Martha hairband project onto Ravelry, you’ll be spreading the word, thank you :)
