Orophin is a unisex, versatile hat pattern featuring a trendy stranded colourwork motif. It is part of the Haldir collection, which features a hat, cowl and pair of fingerless mitts. The name of the pattern comes from a character from the Lord of the Rings.

If you like this pattern, make sure to check out the Haldir collection. Get a beautifully formatted 20-page booklet featuring a hat, cowl and mitt pattern for the price of 2 patterns. The Haldir collection is available in both ebook and printed format.

This hat comes in one size to fit a head circumference of about 20-22 inches or 51-56 cm.

You’ll need approximately 45 grams of fingering weight yarn in 2 contrasting colours: 25 grams of MC and 20 grams of CC.
Yarn used in sample is Tukuwool Fingering (75% Finnsheep and 25% Texelin, 213 yards or 195 meters per 50 grams) in colourways Raku (MC) and Uupo (CC). Kits are available in my webshop.

Other materials required are needles for working small circumferences in the round (gauge size needles and needles that are 1 size smaller), at least 1 stitch marker, and a tapestry needle.

This pattern contains 4 pages. Basic instructions are 1 page and then there are 2 pages for charts.

This pattern is included in my “Buy 3, get 1 free!” sale. Just add any 4 of my patterns to your cart and get the cheapest one for free
