Paona
Paona is a shallow shawlette with a large lace border, inspired by Estonian stitch patterns that reminds me a peacock’s tail with nupps. It is worked top-down and begins with short rows.
Using only one skein of fingering weight yarn, it will be a joy to knit and wear on chilly summer evenings.
Finished measurements: 71 inches (180cm) in length from end to end, 15 inches (38cm) at widest section.
Difficulty: intermediate.
Other notions: nupps (on WS, you can transferring all 9 stitches to a very small needle and knitting them together off that. You can also do it with a crochet hook. They are both practical solutions), CDD (centre double decrease).
Huge thank you to joansgarden, Genovia, Josiphine, panfila, miskii for testing.
And a special thanks to lalagreen for correcting my translation defects.
I hope you’ll enjoy this pattern!
