Caprice No. 24 in A minor is the final caprice of Niccolò Paganini’s 24 Caprices, and a famous work for solo violin. The caprice has provided a rich seam of material for works by many composers. One of them is “Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” by Sergei Rachmaninoff.“Rapsodiya” is “Rhapsody” in Russian.

“Rapsodiya” is a beautiful textured shawl with a delicate edge. This shawl would make a great accessory for any time of the year. The shawl is seamless and knitted sideways. The shawl is a very quick knit and would be a great project for an advanced beginner as well as experienced knitter.

Finished Size:
The sample shawl in the photographs after blocking measures 156cm (61inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 43cm (20inches) for the height of the shawl at the center. You can easily make it bigger or smaller by changing the number of time you knit each section.

Gauge:
The gauge is not critical in knitting this shawl. Adjust your needle size to suite your yarn and achieve the size and the look of the shawl of your choice.

Yarn: Lana Gatto Wool Gatto DK Weight (100% Wool, 8ply).
2 skeins = 362.0 yards (331.0m) of colorway “Latte”
DyeForWool Lace // Baby Alpaca/Silk (70% Alpaca, 30% Silk, Lace 2ply)
0.8 skeins = 699.2 yards (639.3m) yarn held double.
The yarn can be substituted for a sport weight or fingering weight yarn.

Needles:
US 5 – 3.75 mm circular needles.
