Cables, dayflower lace, and a leafy edging adorn the edge of this crescent-shaped shawlette, perfect for that special small skein. The narrow lace border is worked long-ways, using a method of keeping live stitches on the needle that eliminates the need to pick up stitches for the body of the shawl.

This pattern contains lace charts as well as full written directions for the lace border.

Materials
Approximately 300 yds of an appropriate lace-weight yarn (Sample shown in Malabrigo Lace Superwash, Archangel)
US 4/3.5 mm 32 inch circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
Yarn needle

Gauge
19 sts x 46 rows in 4 inches (10 cm) in Stockinette stitch, after blocking (Note: exact gauge is not necessary)

Having trouble getting started with the m1e? Check out this post from the Beginning Lace Knitters group which features a photo tutorial of initial rows. Thanks JudithS2 for sharing!

ERRATA Fixed in current version of pattern
There was a stitch count error in Rows 6 and 14 in the dayflower lace portion of the border. The written instructions and the charts have been fixed and updated. Both rows should read:
Row 6 & 14: k1, (k2, p1)2x, k6, p17, p1 tbl, m1e, turn

Please download the new version! Thanks!
