Materials:
Size 4 U.S. (3.5mm) 32” circular needle
Yarn needle

Yarn:
4 (4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 8) hanks Shibui Linen (100% linen; 246 yards per 50g), shown in 2003 Ash.

Gauge:
20 sts and 36 rows = 4” in Starry Sky stitch, hung gauge, after blocking

This combination of pattern and yarn grows lengthwise (stitch gauge) and shrinks widthwise (row gauge) with blocking and wear. For most accurate results, knit a large swatch, block, then hang it up sideways, so the rows are on the verti- cal, with weight on the bottom edge (try pinning it to the wall with binder clips for weights) and mea- sure the gauge with the fabric hanging.
