(Gannet)

Size:
44 inches across top edge of shawl 17 ½ inches from center top to bottom edge. Needles:
US#6/4.25mm 32 inch circular needle.

Yarn:
490 yards fingering weight yarn Shown in Malabrigo Sock (440yrds/402 m; 100g; 100 % Superwash Merino Wool) in Cote D’Azur.

Notions:
Stitch markers (preferably split ring or something that can be removed easily)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.

Gauge:
26 sts and 29 rows=4 inches in Stockinette Stitch on US 6/4.25mm needles.
Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Technical Notes:
This shawl begins at the widest edge and is worked towards the center of the top edge, decreasing stitches every RS row. The rate of decreases doubles for the top half of the shawl creating more of a curved edge along the top of the shawl.
