The Southmoor Hat hat is fun, casual, and fashion forward. A simple shape and stitch provide an elegant backdrop to our featured element: the button placket. The hat is worked from the bottom up, first flat and then in the round through the crown decreases. Stitches are later picked up to work the seed stitch buttons bands.

Clarification of buttonhole section
Printed pattern states – Buttonhole row: k1, p1 twice, BO 2 sts (1 st rem on right needle), •p1, k1, p1, BO 2 sts (1 st rem on right needle); rep from • once more, p1, k1.”

Try this slight wording change – Buttonhole Row (RS): (K1, p1) twice, bo 2, • p1, k1, p1, bo 2; repeat from • once more, k1, p1, k1.
