These legwarmers, which can be made in either the smaller, ankle-warmers size, or the taller size, button around your legs, for both form and functional purposes. Not only do the strappy pieces look super cool, but if you get too warm, you can easily take them off without having to remove your shoes!

The pattern is given as both written instructions and charts, separate patterns/charts for each leg, and additions to turn the regular size into the taller size. This would be a good pattern for an intermediate-level knitter new to cables, since there are several different cables involved, but they never get too complex.

Size: adjustable to be custom fit with button placement; make a child size by adjusting gauge

Yarn: around 130-160 yards (120-146 meters) of bulky weight (or super bulky, depending on the brand), or multiple strands of finer yarn held together

Needles: size US 13 (9mm), or size to get gauge

Gauge: about 2.75 stitches per inch (or, 5.5 stitches per 2 inches); about 5.5 stitches per 5cm

Skills needed: cabling with a cable needle
