It is knitted in garter stitch to give it a squishy texture. Since it uses intarsia technique and short rows around the middle, you only need one skein (bobbin) per color to knit it.

Of course, this piece can not only be used as a washcloth, but also as a potholder or coaster.

I used DK and Sports weight yarn, but other yarn weights can be used as well.
