I am a young aspiring artist and have always enjoyed learning new ways to express my artistic side.
I love all art forms: painting, bookmaking, sewing, knitting and crocheting, pattern and clothing design, wood working, metal art, jewelry making, crafting, music, and cooking are a few of my favorites. In short, I love to make stuff.
I have been creating art for as long as I can remember and each time I am introduced to a new art form, I want to soak it up and learn all about it.
I also love serving others. One of my passions is working with the youth at my church. I’ve been a volunteer since 2005. It’s a lot of work, normally 2-3 days a week with those crazy teenagers, but the joy and blessing that comes from being a blessing to my students makes it so worth it.
I got married in 2009 at a young age, too young some people say, when I was 18. While this could have been a challenge being that my husband was 24 and I was barely out of high school, it has been so much fun growing together as a couple and learning what it means to have a fun-filled, loving, thriving and successful life-long marriage. He sometimes drives me crazy, but man, even when he makes me mad, all I want to do is hug him.
I love being goofy and making people laugh. I feel like I’m always practicing for Snapchat with the crazy faces I am constantly making. I love acting like a kid when I’m around my high school students. There’s no shame in dressing up like Galadriel from Lord of the Rings for a New Years Eve dance party at Winter Camp, or running around my neighborhood with my sophomore ladies chasing down the junior guys who just TPed my house during our slumber party. Too. Much. Fun.
I have been creating art and crafts since I have been able to hold a paint brush. I love to make pretty things.
My interest for fashion accessory and clothing design came in 2001 when I would lock myself in my room for hours with a pad of graph paper, a pencil and my imagination. I would trace the form of my Barbie dolls onto the paper, and sketch out clothing and accessories that I could only imagine of wearing.
I began to teach myself how to crochet and sew in 2003 and that gave me the ability to finally turn my sketches into the real thing.
In 2009, my mother-in-law expanded my needle arts even more by teaching me how to knit and since then I have combined my love for textile design with needle arts to be able to create some of the patterns I sell.
I hope you enjoy!
