Emma Lamb

Hello I’m Emma Lamb, a British crochet designer and blogger living in the beautiful city of Edinburgh, Scotland. Working from my home studio in the heart of this bustling city I spend many of my days dreaming in gorgeous colour and pretty crochet. With a magpie’s eye for interesting colour combinations I find inspiration wherever I look and often in the most mundane moments of my everyday life.

In September 2015 my first solo book of crochet patterns was published, ‘Crochet Home’ features 20 designs including a collection of signature pieces alongside lots of pretty new projects to get your hooks into. I am so excited to share my work with you in this way and I hope you all love this book as much as I enjoyed creating it for you!

In addition to my book and self-published work I have designed exclusive projects for yarn houses including Gomitoli’s and publishers such as Lark Books and Mollie Makes. Some of my designs have also been featured on the cover of Mollie Makes monthly issues as well as in other great magazines including Spoonful, 91 Magazine, #crochet and Prima Makes.

Crochet is a joy and should be celebrated!

My mission is to inspire creativity and love of colour with this incredibly beautiful craft. In each new design I love to explore fresh and playful combinations of colour, pattern and texture while drawing inspiration from the Scandinavian aesthetic, mid-century design and my everyday life. I believe my designs should be both pretty and practical wherever possible so that not only are they a pleasure to create they will be useful and useable in our daily lives too. On occasion ‘pretty’ does take precedence since crochet is such a therapeutic craft its practical application can often be found in the making process alone. By working with great yarns and interesting fibres such as wool, linen, recycled fibres, cashmere, organic cotton, paper and alpaca I hope that my designs will become heirlooms of the future.
