Come and join us at the Bloomingdale Regional Library on March 4th, from 6-8:30 pm, and help us Crochet Plastic Bags together to form portable-lightweight mats for the homeless. “These mats are intended for sleeping, creating a comfortable barrier between the ground and the body, to help retain body heat while sleeping.”
We kindly have been accepting used but clean shopping bags by the suggestion of our own BPL member, Grace! Thanks to Grace we now have enough bags to really get going on this project. “Each mat will keep 500-700 plastic bags out of the landfill. Humanitarian and eco-friendly!”: We love it!!! We’ll have certified instructors from the Craft Yarn Council available to help you if you’re new to needlecrafts, or even if you just need a refresher.
