Knit this beautiful little cable and textured blanket in a super-soft, easy-wash worsted-weight yarn to please both babies and parents alike; knit it in wool or alpaca, this sized blanket also makes a cozy lap-ghan. Adding additional repeats horizontally and vertically can turn this into a lovely throw or afghan – additional yarn is required, of course!

Notions
Stitch markers; yarn needle.

Method
Knit flat.

Techniques Used
Knit, purl, 2 over 1 cables, 2 over 2 cables, knit 2 together, knit into front and back of same stitch, make 1, purl 2 together.

Stitch patterns are both charted and written out. Separate directions are given for the charted and written versions.

A great resource for learning how to read charts is Eunny Jang’s Chart Reading 101 -- scroll about half-way down the page.
