MATERIALS AND TOOLS
You will need:
• Yarn

  • Main – 50 gr of grey or black (not too fluffy). Weight – Worsted. Yardage - 159 yards (145 meters). Unit weight - 50 grams (1.76 ounces). Fibers - 50% Wool, 50 Acrylic.
  • Second – 20 gr of grey or black smooth yarn. Weight – Fingering. Yardage - 230 yards (210 meters). Unit weight - 50 grams (1.76 ounces). Fibers 100% Acrylic or wool.

• Steel hook 1.5 mm. (US steel hook – 8, UK steel hook - 4 1/2). Please note that you should use much thinner hook than stated at the yarn label.
• Strong black thread for sewing.
• Tapestry needle for tightening.
• Two 6 mm beads for eyes.
• Ready-made nose approx. 1.5 cm (0.5’’) (or make it from polymer clay).
• 10 cm (4’’) of very thin wire for the ears’ edge. (you will crochet ear’s edge around this wire to give it shape).
• Wire for legs (not very thick) about 35 cm (13’’). I used single-core copper electrical wire 1.5 mm diameter in total with plastic cover. Use only copper wire with plastic covering for the frame as copper can better stand bending compared to aluminum. You can buy it at electric supplies stores.
• Plaster - adhesive-backed fabric tape 1 cm wide
to work up the wire (the tape you use to cover
wounds (first aid)).
• Needle for felting.
• 10 sewing pins.
• Brush or Velcro for combing.
• Little sharp scissors for designing.
• Stuffing.

For nose made of polymer clay:
• Black polymer clay.
• Varnish.
• A loop for fastening if needed.

For “Nut & Bolt” joints (legs):
• 8 fibreboard discs
• 4 bolts (screws).
• 4 matching size nuts for the bolts or screws.
• 8 washers with diameter much smaller than fibreboard disks.

Where to find “Nut & Bolt” joint parts?

  1. Individual parts can easily be found at a hardware store.
  2. As a set - on the Internet. Search for “Nut & Bolt joints”.
