The Alien is made from quite small amounts of yarn. Sitting Alien measures about 16 cm (6,3 inch). Almost all pieces are knitted in round.

Leftovers from different projects of a similar gauge in DK or worsted in:
Blue Alien: white, blue, light blue, yellow, orange and black.
Grey Alien: white, grey, light grey, yellow, red and black.

The toy is knitted flat and that is why the pattern is recommended for advanced beginner knitter.
