#25 Flame Stitch Cardigan
When Vogue Knitting was relaunched in 1982, there was much fuss over the cover choice—with many iterations and quite the selection commitee. Finally this flame-stitch cardigan was chosen, though the cover seems to be more about the model and her tied blouse than the actual knitting. To celebrate our anniversary, we bring you this ’80s classic once again, shown full size (the original was a small inset) in all its splendor. The yarn was Manos del Uruguay Handspun, which 35 years later has morphed into Clasica, still hand-dyed by Manos del Uruguay. We’ve chosen colors as close to the originals as possible.
