45 degrees is a chilly temperature and is also half of a right angle. This easy blanket is knit as a reverse mitered square starting from a tiny square and growing 2 stitches every right side row. It is knit in shadow stitch where you knit 3 rows and purl only one to make ridges along the front of the blanket. (Yes, you could knit it all in garter stitch, knitting every row.) Finished size was 49” x 51” which is not quite a square. This is a simple guy appropriate design that shows off variegated yarn. I designed it as a gift for a male friend who was being treated for cancer. It’s easy to make as large or small as you like by stopping and binding off when it is large enough. You will need long circulars to hold all the stitches.
