A Piece of String is a pattern for knitters who love fingers in fingerless gloves but hate ends. A Piece of String combines crochet with knitting to make a pair of fingerless gloves in one piece of yarn, and enables you use up the entire skein in the process as well!

Pattern is worked in the round in one piece, and if you leave the gloves connected you will only have 2 ends to weave in! The instructions can be used for any gauge yarn, light fingering to DK is probably the best for gloves. Pdf is 4 pages long and includes photo directions for knitting the fingers.

Techniques used includes:

  • Knitting in the round
  • Provisional cast on
  • Short rows
  • Increases and decreases
  • Slip stitch crochet
