I woke up one day with a picture of this jacket in my head, color and everything. It looked a bit like Coco Chanel but I am definitely more casual than Ms. Chanel so I nixed the fancy bits, added ties and Voila, the Abercorn Jacket! With a determination to not heed the siren call of mom jeans, it has been a goal to spice up my wardrobe with classic pieces that also fit my fast paced, toddler driven, busy-but-fun lifestyle. It was also important for my jacket to be warm (I am cold natured) as well as be ready for business meetings. I took the name from one of my favorite squares in Savannah, because this jacket as a bit of the Southern Lady mixed in.
The Abercorn Jacket is a fast knit, worked on big needles. The textured stitch plus the chucky yarn give structure instead of drape to create this cropped jacket. You can easily change up the closures to fit your style with pewter frogs, hidden clasps or velvet ribbon ties. It will also look amazing knit in 1 color.
