Adelaide is a timeless piece designed to fit and flatter. The cabled waistband creates a belt feature, drawing attention to the waist and creating an hour-glass shape.
Adelaide is created in three sections; first the waistband is worked in one long piece, as with a scarf, then grafted together to create a seamless appearance. The bottom and top sections are worked separately by knitting up stitches from the waistband.
This pattern requires an understanding of basic knit and purl stitches, simple cable technique, knitting up stitches, grafting stitches with kitchener stitch and joining shoulder seams with 3-needle bind-off. However, the last two methods can be substituted with basic seaming.
This pattern is designed for Cascade 220 yarn and requires 2(3,3,4)skeins. Please check gauge if substituting yarn.
