The Advent KALendar is a shawl knitalong will be published in 24 daily clues, from Dec 1-24, 2016. Each day you will get a piece of the pattern to enjoy, and by Christmas you will have a completed shawl.

The shawl design is inspired by Dažbog (the father of the Zorya, who inspired the 2015 Advent KALendar)

Dažbog is the ancient Slavic sun god. He rides the sun-chariot across the sky every day, and gives light to the world. The sun has been forged by his father, Svarog. Dažbog begins each day as an infant, and ends each day as an old man. At night, he travels through the underworld.
As the light grows scarce at the winter solstice, we wish for the return of the sun, and call for Dažbog to once more begin to spend more time with us.
