The Advent Shawl – in twenty-four parts over twenty-four days

This Advent Shawl is a triangular shawl full of all the things I love about knitting: colours, colourwork, lovely yarn, surprises, lace work, cables, textures and edgings that go on for hundreds of stitches. It provides for 24 days of knitting that should lead to a shawl right on Christmas Day.

There’s also a code to download my Great Ocean Road shawl pattern included.

You can use this pattern with a Zanetto Yarn Advent Kit or your own yarn:

For the first ten days, you will need 5g of yarn a day. From Day 11 onwards, I recommend 7g of yarn for each of six days and then 7g to 10g for each day up to and including Day 23. The border will need about 25g.

ERRATA
Version 5 is the latest version and contains corrections for the first 11 days.

On Day 1, there should be a WS row after the row repeats 4-12. This then changes the row counts.

Row 13: Rep Row 2.
Row 14: K3, sm, yo, k7, skpo, yo, k2tog, yo, k to marker, yo, sm, k1, sm, yo, k7, skpo, yo, k2tog, yo, k to marker, yo, sm, k3. (37 sts)
Row 15: K3, sm, p to last marker (slipping markers as you go), sm, k3.
Rows 16-25: Rep Rows 14-15 five times. (61 sts)

Day 12 says RS on the first row but the day starts on the WS row.
