“All Sorts” is my design for the Phat Fiber Sampler Box March 2011 “Sweet Shop”.

The pattern makes a rectangle, 34” by 20”, that can be shaped and secured by buttons or I cord drawstrings. You can wear it “All Sorts” of ways - shrug, neck wrap, head wrap, cowl, hood, cape. You can drawstring gather opposite ends to make a bag.

Constructed by casting on with I cord which continues on the sides as knit on edging. A simple one row pattern makes the body of the rectangle, finally casting off with I cord. Buttons on elastic cord make a secure fastening and optional I cord drawstings add to the shaping possibilities.

With bulky yarn on larger needles and a simple pattern, this is a fast knit.

Many thanks to my fiber partner, Booknerd. Her fabulous yarns, fibers and handmade books can be seen at booknerd.etsy.com. The buttons were created by Oruaka, find more at oruaka.etsy.com.
