Severus Snape has been my favourite character from the Harry Potter series and I’ve always liked the sneaky little contrast of the white cuff to the black robe.

Like so many of us who start on our first pair of socks, mine was Erica Lueder’s Hermione’s Everyday Socks and for some time I’d wanted to work on a pair of fingerless gloves to compliment the pattern.

Today just became the most seemingly fitting day of making that happen.

Please keep in mind I am a very tight knitter and you may want to adjust your needle size.

The gauge of my shown finished gloves is:
12 vertical and 8 horizontal per inch in stitch

As mentioned this makes for a snug fit glove on a small female hand.

I used a 100% merino yarn for the project showcased, however my initial tests were also done in merino/nylon mixes which have a little more give, as well as a 100% pima cotton version.
