This shawl is inspired by the sand dunes, waves, and amber of the Curonian Spit on the coast of Lithuania.

The Curonian Spit is a narrow peninsula separating the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon. The northern part of the peninsula belongs to Lithuania, and the southern part belongs to Russia, even though it is far from the mainland of that country.

The spit has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and has the status of national park in both countries.
