Description:
The stranded motif reminds me of anchors – do you see them?
Beginning with a diagonal rib cuff, followed by some stranded knitting on the leg and with knit and purl stitches along the heel and foot, the socks should be quite easy to knit. The garter stitch portion in front of the foot has an accordion effect and makes a better fit for this type of heel.

I would be happy if you give the pattern a heart when downloading :)

The socks are fitting with almost no ease. If you want a wider leg, you could start with 72 sts instead of 64, and then decrease 8 sts in rnd 29 of chart B.

The heel is my variation of the “Strong heel”, with gusset and heel knitted at the same time, followed by a heel turn. There is no need of picking up stitches with this type of heel, and it fits a high arch. I worked the heel increases outside the rib section.
The original heel was created and presented for the first time by Gerdine Crawford-Strong in Knitter’s Magazine, Fall 2003.

I worked a pointed toe. If you prefer a more rounded toe, you will find an alternative description at the end of this pattern, involving some grafting. Or you can choose your own toe.

I knit a bit loose. If you’re a tight knitter, you may want to adjust your needle size.

Thanks so much to Felisi for testknitting!
