What am I missing?
Antique baby cap
size 40 thread and a 20 hook but a 16 should work just fine this is heirloom crochet
the pattern is from just a little after 1862 as there is a reference to the London Exhibition in the pattern book ( I believe that was the worlds fair) This pattern is still in its original form from 1862 with out being translated to modern terms. Some knowledge of crochet is expected to complete this item. Please be true to the size of thread as even one size different will make it fit a child and more than that will make it too big for an adult. I know it is hard to find hooks this small but they are still made usually a specialty order from Japan or some place like that. Size 14, 15, 1nd 16 can still be found at Lacis on the internet a 16 should be close enough. I have not worked this pattern so I am not able to answer to many questions on it other than the basics. Please note this is not a beginner pattern
Mrs. G. Linnaeus Banks is the author of this but I am not able to edit the photos if I put her as the author but I am giving her the credit I just need to be able to edit things
