This pattern is free of charge for anyone who buys the New Beginnings pattern or the In Love Collection ebook (including past purchases) through Ravelry. Unfortunately it is not available through LYS sales. When you are on the pattern page for As You Wish - hit the buy now button and though it may show £3 the magic of Ravelry will automatically know that you have purchased a qualifying product and will make the pattern free of charge.

A pretty and simple, crescent shaped shawl; a sister shawl to New Beginnings and designed to coincide with MADMAY2012. The bands of lace patterning increase in intensity as the shawl grows and you move through the charts. However, you have the ability to make the shawl larger, or smaller, by repeating or omitting charts/sections and you can even change the order as the charts/sections are interchangeable. The first shawl, in Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light, consists of four charts and the lace border and used 410m.

Included is a pattern for a garter-stitch version that could be knit in two colours.

It is a wonderfully simple pattern with only one pattern repeat to memorise that gives you the ability to play and to totally customize your shawl plus it has both charts and written instructions and, as ever, bead placement is shown but they are optional. Should you knit all charts A through to F and the Lace Border you will need 475 beads plus a few extra for those that invariably escape.

Now with notes in German to accompany the pattern - Thank you to Sabine Picard.
