Inspired by my obsession and passion for cables, Athena’s Vest Coat incorporates a-line shaping between twisted stitch cable panels for a 3/4 length vest coat.

Instructions for the cable panels are charted only at this time. Includes customizing instructions for length of skirt and bodice, placement of seed stitch waist band and bodice/bustline shaping using vertical darts and/or horizontal short row darts.

  1. As an example for customizing the length, the Ravelry Red version has a slightly higher waistline and the Teal Feathers version is closer to actual waistline.
  2. Top picture shows both vertical bust darts and short row horizontal bust darts. The vertical darts are also on the back.

Add a stylish half belt at the back that flatters every figure shape!

Designed for no ease at the lower size measurement and a 2” negative ease for the higher size measurement in the size ranges. For example, size 38-40 measures 38” at the bustline. More ease can be obtained by changing gauge slightly to 19.5 sts/4 inches.

Sleeves will be added to the pattern in the future. However, I am available to help with anyone wanting to try a top down set in sleeve following Barbara Walker’s From the Top instructions. I have not yet tried it but have the book and am planning on doing this myself very soon. Please check out my group on Ravelry: Kreations by Kristi and Friends.
