Free quick-knitting fingerless gloves named in honor of retired cyclist Axel Merckx. I knit them out of my own handspun, but you can use any bulky weight yarn you might have lurking in your stash. The ribbed pattern is stretchy enough to fit most women’s hands and smaller men’s hands, and it’s easily scaled up by using a thicker yarn and needle or adding a few stitches in 2x2 rib.

May 2013: This pattern has a new home at my new site, Whistling Girl Knits.
