I have long wanted to knit something that could be worn in the summer—other than a basic, straight-sided tank top. I wanted something that showed knitting skills—with interesting details—but was light and easy to wear. And here is my solution: an A-line, lacy top, made a lovely fingering weight yarn. The interesting detail is the surprise at the back—a panel … which can be buttoned as little or as much as you wish. (It really is fun to wear and then listen for the response when they see the back!)

Another surprise is its versatility—my discovery that that it can be worn over something with sleeves. If worn without (as shown on following pages), a racer-back camisole works well.
