This book has templates for various projects including scarves. Pick a yarn, needles & a stitch pattern and knit a gauge swatch, then look up the cast on number in the tables provided. You may also just cast on the number of stitches to make a scarf the size you want, based on the yarn label’s recommended gauge, and start knitting a scarf. Three different methods of scarf construction are outlined in detail.
