This is a very basic, top down, stockinette, worsted weight sock with heel flap construction. I wrote up the pattern to use when teaching a beginning sock class and thought I would share it here on Ravelry.

The sock photo shows the anatomy of the sock, as I knitted every part of the sock in a different color. You would probably knit it all in a single color.

Size is an average woman’s foot.

You will need worsted weight yarn and size 3 needles or needles to get gauge.
