This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms for Bubbly the otter. With this very easy pattern, you can make a funny and realistic looking crochet otter.

Size
Size of finished otter made with worsted weight yarn: 6.2 inch / 15,5 cm tall.

The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.

Materials
For this crochet otter you’ll need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You’ll need three colours of yarn, brown (2/3 of a 100 yard skein), beige (1/10) and a left over bit of very dark brown or black for the nose. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes. You will also need fibrefill and pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads). A pipe cleaner for the tail is optional. Lopi colour numbers: 0053, 0086 and 0052.

Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.

Extra note
This pattern has replaced an otter pattern I published years ago. Because you can’t delete patterns in Ravelry, I kept the old listing and replaced everything. The first two projects you see are made with the old otter pattern for Basil the otter.
