Basket Towel Appliqué Set #FV-388
This was featured in a 1950 publication (Quick Tricks in Crochet) of the Spool Cotton Company as an applique for guest towels. Pattern was titled ”Basket Towel Set.”
Instead, with some leftover fabric, it will become a decorative cushion / pillow for a Victorian era bed and breakfast.
This is a very easy pattern and an excellent way to use up all the leftover bits of cotton thread you have lying about.
It is shown here in an embroidery hoop (for purposes of sewing the Appliqué to the fabric) but is essentially finished for the purpose of Ravelry.
The pattern is at the link above. Please note I have not noted any gauge nor thread yardage. There is no quantity or gauge statement in the original pattern, fairly typical for the time of publication. It really is a great pattern for using up any leftover thread and requires small amounts for the flowers.
