Bear Brand Kit #7575 Snowman Stocking

Cascade Yarns Cascade 220
Worsted / 10 ply (9 wpi) ?
20 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette
US 6 - 4.0 mm
One size

This vintage stocking was made for me by my Aunt Thelma in 1959. She made several identical stockings for some of my cousins born around the same time. Pattern Detectives helped me find the pattern, which is from a Bear Brand kit, possibly #7575.

The yarn was originally 3.5 oz (total) of 100% wool worsted, included with the kit, along with raffia (for the broom bristles) and sequins.

The top photo to the left from valereee was knitted in 1959 from an original kit.

The photo to the left from gknitter was done all in the round, with the pictures added later via duplicate stitch rather than knitting the stocking flat and doing the design in intarsia.

The photo to the left from jlgarde was done using Cascade 220 in colors Christmas Red, Christmas Green, and White.
