The body of Beatrix is worked flat in one piece beginning at
the back hem. Stitches are then held for the neck and the left and right fronts are worked separately. A mitred border + collar is worked on the fronts, sleeves are then worked flat and seamed.
YARN: The Fibre Company Acadia (60% merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk; 145 yds/50gm skein): sand (MC), 2 (3, 4, 4, 5, 6) skeins + summersweet (CC), 1 skein.
GAUGE: 24 sts + 48 rows = 4” (10 cm) in garter st, after blocking.
NEEDLES: 1 - 24“ US 3 (3.25mm) circs and pair straights.
NOTIONS: 1 - 1” button(s), darning needle, 4 stitch markers.
SIZE: NB-6 mos (6-12 mos, 12-18 mos, 2T, 3T, 4T).
SKILLS: Knitting flat, increasing, decreasing, picking up stitches.
