The Bellflower shawl is based off of the Kikyou flower found in Japan. This is a graceful and elegant shawl, with an intricate lace border and stockinette stitch body. You knit the lace border first, then pick up stitches through the slip stitches on the straight edge. The pattern includes both written instructions and a chart. The stitch count changes every row. This can be a challenging shawl to knit due to the bellflower motif but the end result is sure to be reward enough!
When binding off, you can opt in to do the picot bind off, or bind off the shawl loosely. Remember, stockinette stitch rolls up so don’t be afraid to be aggressive on blocking the body.
