This original mosaic design is a fun and easy way to use hand-dyed or variegated sock yarns. Choose one light and one dark and then watch as the yarns seem to do all the work.

The cowl is a simple tube worked in the round with no shaping. Fine yarns yield a light and drapey fabric that you can fold and pin at the neck.

The pattern includes large, clear charts, and for those who haven’t tried mosaic knitting it “talks you through” the border chart with line by line instructions. This will help you to get used to reading the charts before you begin the larger chart.

There are also notes about choosing yarns and helpful tips on working the mosaic patterns.
