Beulah

When a cold, blustery day calls for a touch of cosy style, Beulah delivers. This relaxed fit beanie features a detailed lace cable flowing along the side, providing pretty detail in this feminine design. The soft, luxurious Whitfell DK complements the hat beautifully, ensuring you’ll be snug no matter what the weather throws at you.

Materials

Eden Cottage Yarns Whitfell DK (DK; 100% baby Alpaca; 100m / 109yds per 50g ball)
Shade: Misty Woods; 2 x 50g balls
Sample also shown in Steel.

Needles and Accessories

3.25mm (US3) circular needle, 40cm (16in) length (or the size needed to obtain the correct gauge)
One set of 3.25mm / US3 double pointed needles

A long circular needle 80cm (32in) may be used for the magic loop method, removing the need for DPNs.

Five stitch markers, darning needle, cable needle

Sizes

Small (medium, large)
Finished circumference:
44 (48, 52)cm / 17.5 (19, 20.5)in
To fit: 50 (55, 60)cm / 20 (22, 24)in
Length from brim to crown:
22 (22.5, 23)cm / 8.75 (9, 9.25)in

Gauge

24 sts and 32 rounds to 10cm (4in) over stocking stitch on 3.25mm needles after blocking.

Note: Adjust needle size if necessary to match gauge.

The lace panel varies in width and has therefore not been included for gauge. Round gauge in particular is important for determining the overall length – too loose a round gauge might give you an oversized hat.
