Featured as ‘additional blocks’ in Moogly’s CAL Free Pattern Round-Up for March, 2014

Fun block representative of the ‘Ides of March’ which falls on March 15, as part of the Julian Calendar. ‘Beware the Ides of March’ was a line in the play, Julius Caesar, portending the assassination of the main character. Otherwise, the Ides of March is a date not to be feared.

Textural and interesting to crochet, the block has a rather unusual ‘square/diamond/back to square’ construction that will keep your interest. Tapestry crochet around the edges frames it nicely.
