This scrumptious wrap/poncho named after my little sister Sabine is made of a simple rectangle shawl, folded in half and sewn together on one side.

The wavy brioche pattern was inspired by the “Knitting Fresh Brioche” Book by Nancy Marchant.
The Classic Elite Chalet yarn I used for the winter version is a very soft, but also super stretchy yarn, so the wrap hugs you and flows over the shoulders very nicely. It can be worn symmetrically, with the seam in the back, or asymmetrically with the seam over one shoulder.

The finished piece measures about 15 x 52 inches, 15 x 26 inches folded.
If you want a larger poncho style you can add another repeat.

The cotton version in Ultra Pima for the summer makes a great wrap for cooler evenings at the waterfront. Ultra Pima from Cascade yarn has a beautiful sheen to it. I have been wearing it all summer.
