I designed Big Bunny Tutu in memory of my dearly departed younger sister. She was a Girl Scout in her youth and learned many funny songs at camp. One of her favorites was “Little Bunny Foo Foo”.

Big Bunny Tutu is worked from the neck down with provisional cast on for the body, then neck up to the head and ears. Stuffing as you go allows for a seamless finish. If you prefer, leave an opening in the neck and stuff after you are done knitting. The tutu apron is a knitted top with a nylon net skirt that is knit on to the top. The vest is knit in pieces then sewn together.

NOTE – if you are planning on giving your finished Big Bunny Tutu to a child, please be sure that you have used features that cannot be removed. Since items for children will receive more vigorous use, I strongly urge you to enclose the stuffing , sewing down yarn ends with sewing thread, double knot any embroidered or sewn details and in all ways ensure that your gift is safe and will last many happy years. Safety doll eyes can be purchased from the following sources:

Instructions for the tutu apron and a vest follow the instructions for the bunny.

If you can knit a sock, you likely have the skill set to make a Big bunny. I’m always available for questions. Just send me a message.
